This is what happens...

So I thought it was my first day back when in fact I got caught up in another 12 hour day at work doing what I do best.  It wasn't bad - had my house music, had my failing units, and I had the lab all to myself.  The production level was at a serious high and so I had to skip out on the volleyball game.  You know, you get in that zone - shit's just clicking and you continue along your jolly way...

By the time I stepped out of the lab it was damn near 830pm and so I didn't have much choice but to head on over to the watering hole and have myself a drink.  It was my good friend V's birthday so his girl planned a little something something for him and we got after it.  Meeting a bunch of people, dancin', drinking - just good old fun right....

Luckily for me my amazing sister, Doctor J, rolled through otherwise I would have only had water (don't drink and drive people) and before you knew it we'd had a shot, a couple crowns on rocks, and a whole lot of fun...and my sister drove this happy drunk home afterwards...and then I woke up with a serious headache - the end.

First day back

To the gym - well sort of.  Today is my first day back to the volleyball court in a long while. I had done this and that to my body that put it in a world of hurt for a while so I decided to take myself out of the game.  Now, with the new year here, my body's feeling alright, and I'm ready to get after it.

I stretched for the first time this decade the other day to try and get myself ready a little.  You know it's hard to become limber when you hadn't stretched in a while.  Muscle were hurting, my flexibility had decreased but not by much.  I finally got warmed up and was able to stretch fairly well so we'll see how tonight goes.

I'm anticipating a very sluggish game by me.  Although, it may not be the case since I have a lot of energy as of late, so I may come with the thunder.  My serves shouldn't be effected from the downtime and I think my accuracy has kept it's course.  I'd have to say it was the beer pong that helped with that.

Welcome welcome

It's been two days and I'm still getting back into the swing of things at work.  I wasn't away for long.  The shut down of the manufacturing complex was only ten days.  I didn't do very many things over the ten days besides catch up on a list of movies and smoke a plethora of cigars.  So many films - so many cigars - so little time...

I watched a few good films actually.  Blood Diamond, Inglorious Bastards, Gladiator, Rambo (the new one), body of lies, and District 9 to name a few.  All of them were very good, and for those who haven't seen District 9 - it starts off slow but you won't be dissapointed by the end of the film.  I'm not going to spoil it for you - I only do that for shitty films because I value your time even if you don't.

And the smokes.  Oh so many.  I stuck mostly with Padilla as I enjoy his blend of spice leather and cocoa.  I did dabble with the excalibur petites and danced a dance with Avo #3 maduro, but the Padilla was were where it was at.  The new robusto that I couldn't put down filled my mouth with a bouquet of flavors.  The corojo wrapper is something that I'm becoming a bigger fan of every day provides the full flavor but with only a medium body so I don't get overwhelmed, and pairs extremely well with my starbucks americano!

shake weight?

I saw a commercial on the home shopping network for this thing called the shake weight.  It's an ingenious idea to take a dumbbell and grab it with two hands like countless female pornstars grab their male counterparts.  They then shake it as hard as they can for as long as they can to get this burning sensation in their triceps and biceps.
You're thinking exactly what I'm thinking.  How in the world does anyone make a device that pretty much makes the person using look like they are jacking off a monster cock and sell them by the thousands.  I mean who doesn't want to look they are jacking something off as they work out.  It's absolutely brilliant.

The best part about it is that they have male and female versions of this.  Does the male version weight more?  Does the female version provide comfort grip so she doesn't get caluses on her hands?  Whoever came up with this idea must have been doing some extremely illicit and potent drugs because you can't just want to grab a weight and practice jerking off...

Back to work...

Welcome back to the grind.  It's been over a week for me that I haven't been at work and I'm starting it off on the right foot.  Literally the right foot was the first foot in the door today, and it's going to be a long day.  Rightfully so it's going to be a good day.  I'm excited to get things accomplished in the new year.  I have some goals...

Some goals, and they really aren't set in stone like I mentioned in last weeks post but they will get accomplished.  I'm a doer.  I do things.  I do lots of things.  Sometimes I do too many things.  What to do next is usually a problem for me since i have so many things to pick from.  So the major personal development I have to do this year is prioritizing...

Don't get me wrong - I get all my work done - all of it, since it's all a priority.  But therein lies the problem though.  I treat everything as though it is a priority and truthfully - not everything is a priority, contrary to my personal belief.  I forget lunches at times - forget dinner at other times - keep my head down and work...well this year I'm looking up so I don't miss what I walk by in 2010...
