Late night drives...

Every now and again I miss the drive into Boston, as I went to school at NU for years and, seeing as I work up north now, I never get a chance to go in any more. So now, i have to settle for nights when I've gotten all the things i needed to finish completed and I head in for a drive in and around the city...

Plus it's the only time i get to enjoy driving my car without having to sit in traffic to wherever I am headed...anyhow I head in and just drive. Open the windows, the moon roof, put the heated seat on, and just drive. I've got my disco house bumping and I can just feel the stress leaving...

There are only a few times when I let those things that I keep in, out. Driving is one of them. Tai Chi for hours is another, and doing hundreds of push ups and thousands of jump ropes...yes I keep count, don't ask me how, I've got this weird thing with math...

Time keeps it's own time...

The first time I heard it was in a Kid and Play movie. House party 3 - pajama jammy jam! I know, grimy. I love it. Great film and it should be watched at least twice for comedic value on Kid's hair alone! But this was the line, and it stuck with me at the time - time waits for no man.

Pretty deep for a comedy film with a few twists and turns here and there but today it's even more relevant to me. I've aged maybe 12 or 13 years since I first saw that film and it just seems that days are going by quicker and the world is turning even faster. It's quite frightening to think about some days actually...

I remember late night sessions of homework, dunkin donuts, and chinese food like it was yesterday. Late night conversations with friends talking about traveling and seeing the world, doing what we worked hard for all those years in school, living; was it all a ruse? Can't answer that til I lay down for my final breath...in the meantime, enjoy some house music...

Moral: Just keep at it...and...

May God rest you're soul in peace...

A friend of mine in his early 20s passed away today. I found out about a half hour ago right after a meeting. His name I will keep, but for those who read my blog and know him will know who I am speaking of. I've known him for a few years now and although that isn't very long to know someone well, it's long enough to know what kind of human he was.

A.M. I met in Washington D.C. years ago at an AYF weekend. We were rooming across the hall from one another and he was friends with a friend of mine. At the crack of the bat you could tell he was a genuine person who cared about his friends and would brighten up the room with a well timed joke and a laugh.

I heard a beautiful thing that he had said to his family and friends when he first found out that he had cancer, he mentioned how God tests the one's he loves most. A.M. although we are happy to see that you are no longer in the pain that you've been feeling, we are all devastated by your untimely departure...my sincerest condolences to the family and close friends of A.M.

May God rest you're soul in peace...

Please, take a moment of silence for A.M.

Moral: It's cliche, but life is short, don't harp on things of little importance, enjoy your family and your friends as much as possible before it is too late...

Mega-millions....

My friends and I for weeks tried to hit it. It was like in Good Will Hunting when we all thought that we had the winning ticket. We all would get excited and talk about where we would go, and how long we'd stay there before we decided to come back to reality...

Well reality hit all too quickly for us over and over as we would dump into the mega millions only to watch people from other states win it. It's amazing how no one from mass has ever won the mega millions. It's always some obscure area of the country that wins it, and not only that it's just one winner who gets a serious amount of cash at that...

I sell some of these mega millions tickets when I'm workin at the shop and it's real funny to hear how people would mind splitting with someone else from another state, like 25 million isn't enough for them...cause they obviously have that at the moment, it's just incredible this notion of sharing, even as we get older, we like to keep to ourselves..

Spanish guitar...

Listening to some of the classic house music in my collection so vast came up on a song called Spanish guitar by Toni Braxton that was a house remix of her hit single from the year 1990-something so I started researching it, trying to find the name of the song, I sat there listening for clues...

So I listened over and over again, trying to get the words of the song down into google as fast as my fat Armenian dolma (that's meat stuffed grape leafs for all you who don't know - in armenian) fingers and finally was able to find the track name. So i went on youtube to find the music video, we all know Toni was always smokin hot in her videos...

Then i said never mind I should just find the real thing...Of course, i hit up youtube where I found this guy playing some fantastic Spanish guitar. Just talent. Pure fuckin talent. I never was never musically gifted (vocally or by instrument) and so I really appreciate it when people can provide such entertainment...and without further interruption by my ass...spanish guitar...

Moral: Take up an instrument if you got the time...

Man vs wild

This weekend I was watching man vs. wild on discovery HD in my physical state; yeah, it's that time of the year again, frigging colds! So yeah, sitting down I was enjoying how to survive if I were to go and fight my way through the jungle; be it against a reptile, another mammal, or the weather and let me tell you all, this show is the tits!

Seriously, this guy gets dropped off somewhere in the middle of fucking no where and he's headed in some direction. Yeah, just some direction, where a helicopter may or may not be able to find and rescue him (of course, it's TV, they'll find him - BIG SPOILER PEOPLE!!!)

So this guy's all over the place, going through snow, running through jungle, falling off trees, drinking water out of large bamboo sticks, eating caterpillars for protein, urinating on skis to make sure they freeze over and frost for better grip, but seriously, his best shit was just grabbing a frog in a shit infested tunnel, bashing it's head over the wall twice, and then chomping his head clean off...and if that doesn't get you fired up...he catches a reindeer, stabs it's neck, drinks it's blood for survival, and then eats it's heart!

Moral: You thought I was kiddin - When a frogs not going down right, drink some reindeer blood and eat it's heart...
