Virtual real time solutions

I'm officially sick and tired of listening to the radio. I used to have XM but they seemed to just be repeating music anyhow so I canceled it just listening to my mp3 cds and ipod connection; then I got bored with it some. So i turned on the radio and was trying to catch up on pop culture some because I stopped watching tv and mtv was my musical information source...

So flipping through stations I was anxiously awaiting to find a new station in boston that would be playing some good hip hop and pop culture music but I haven't been able to. I listen to Jamn and Kiss which are horrible stations cause they repeat songs every half hour. They just murder songs, and not only that, the songs are horrible to begin with...

I just wish that boston would have something like NY or Philly where the stations would play good hip hop and not something that is literally a hook for 80% of the song with some lyrics mixed in between. I doubt it will ever happen cause for some reason the radio stations here don't like to do things right at all...

Moral: Take a page out of the hot 97 station's playbook boston...

The jury is still out for me

For Sean Carter's newest release. I've been listening to his stuff since he first hit the scene years ago and have continued to listen to him but I still can't get a good read on this album. The beats are out of left field and I can't get a good understanding of it. Maybe it's too smart for me but I don't feel like it's his best stuff...

I still revere his first album, reasonable doubt, and then came In my lifetime Vol.1 and he snowballed into a great star, massaging words together that you would never see belong in that arrangement, dropping the black album in 3 days. The man is just a machine and brings the heat every time he steps to the microphone...

So what about this new album. I've had a few rounds with it so far and I can't really get too excited except for a few tracks (D.O.A., Run this town, and Empire state of mind). And I'm trying to get excited because it's S.Carter, I think that if i do a few more rounds of listening to his tracks I may better understand the new approach he took with this album...

Tazza Cafe Providence

I was in providence this past weekend for some partying with friends (see yesterday's hookah post) and of course got very hungry. We went down to the lobby of the hotel and asked for directions to a joint that we heard serves breakfast all day...we get a snide response with the man telling us that it is 2 in the afternoon...we say thanks and walk away...

So we walk out of the hotel and ask the first people we see, and of course they know what we are talking about, 2 blocks down, right on Westminster, 2 blocks down and it's on the right...great so we head down, there it is, Westminster, roll to the right and 2 more down we find the spot...place looks real good and the seats are comfortable...

Sit down, table was dirty, which was fine, they had a big group just leave, and so we sit down. About 20 minutes goes by the lady finally comes over to wipe down the ketchup battle that a couple of children had, and takes our drink order. Ten minutes after that we had our drinks and she took our order. Twenty minutes after that we finally got our food. And 5 minutes after that we got our silverware...

Moral: No breakfast place should take about an hour to get things going for you...

Just livin' the dream

The Exotic Tangerine dream that is, from starbuzz, mixed with the exotic strawberry flavored tobacco, it was just, well, scintillating to the taste buds! The leaves were picked apart in order to allow for maximum airflow through the bowl, and it did. Not only that, the base was filled with ice water and a little bit of cranberry juice just to add a little more flavor...

And flavor it did add...the bowl of honey cured tobacco was one of the most interesting and tasteful smokes I have ever had in my experiences of hookah smoking. The equipment was Mya, purchased by Dwardo many, many years ago and she was still in prime condition. We had just cleaned her actually to ensure the best tasting smoke possible...

The mixture of tobacco with the cranberry juice and ice water tasted like a sweet tangy fruit punch. The chilled smoke was actually providing for really smooth draw and increased flavor during the smoke. Overall just a pleasant experience with some great friends creating a great time...
